Literacy Learning Through Arts And Culture

Expanding the continued success of the Maths & Science through Arts & Culture that has been implemented in eight provinces, the CDP Trust has designed and is ready to implement Literacy Learning through Arts & Culture for Early Childhood Development practitioners, Grade R and Foundation Phase teachers and trainers. Using the creative arts forms and innovative teaching aids, the programme reinforces the links between the visual narrative; the early development of graphicacy; the making of meaning through symbols, signs and images, story telling, reading and writing. The work will be written up as a resource for practitioners in the formal and informal learning sectors.
